Singapore Institute of Management - SIM GE & Project1095

Working with the Singapore Institute of Management from 2018 to 2019, I took the position of IT Business Analyst.
I oversaw much of the infrastructure design, load testing, redundancy planning, security testing, internal security policies, and improvements to be made to transition 2 of the large web projects, https://sim.edu.sg and https://project1095.simge.edu.sg, from local web servers to a multi-zone AWS hosted project with cache and asset optimization fronts.
As a business analyst, a large portion of the work involved meeting with stakeholders and getting the requirements and expectations for the project settled, while balancing the cost of development and cloud hosting budget, and minimizing downtime during the transition.
The work touched on multiple different areas of consideration; how to effectively host the site in multiple zones with a fast-acting failover, lossless asset optimization to improve load times, AWS IAM security policies to give strict internal levels of authentication and authorization for the new cloud-based hosting platform pairing with the local Active Directory in use.
Over the year both projects were successfully transferred to AWS hosting with active failover, dramatically improved load times, space saved on asset storage, and improved SEO to market both education sites to local students who would be the most interested in them.
